A General Framework for Covering Concepts using Terminologies
نویسندگان
چکیده
We describe a general framework for covering concepts using terminologies and briefly present the already investigated instances of this framework. Then, we formalize the best covering problem in the context of the ALN language, in which the difference operation is not semantically unique, and sketches the technique to solve the underlying computation problems.

General form of a cooperative gradual maximal covering location problem
Cooperative and gradual covering are two new methods for developing covering location models. In this paper, a cooperative maximal covering location–allocation model is developed (CMCLAP). In addition, both cooperative and gradual covering concepts are applied to the maximal covering location simultaneously (CGMCLP). Then, we develop an integrated form of a cooperative gradual maximal covering ...
متن کاملCategorizing the Relationships between Structurally Congruent Concepts from Pairs of Terminologies for Semantic Harmonization
In this paper, we are using "structurally congruent concepts" in pairs of terminologies to suggest methods for harmonizing the terminologies. Two concepts are structurally congruent if they are children of the same more general concept and parents of the same more specific concept in two different terminologies. We show that structurally congruent concepts can be interpreted in six useful ways,...
متن کاملComparing SNOMED CT and the NCI Thesaurus through Semantic Web Technologies
Objective: The objective of this study is to compare two large biomedical terminologies, SNOMED CT and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Thesaurus, through Semantic Web technologies. Methods: The two terminologies are converted into the Resource Description Framework (RDF) and loaded into a common triple store. The Unified Medical Language System (UMLS) is used to identify correspondences bet...

متن کاملTopological Analysis of Large-scale Biomedical Terminology Structures
Design: Given rapid growth of terminologies, this research was designed to address scalability. We selected 16 terminologies covering a variety of domains from the UMLS Metathesaurus, a collection of terminological systems. Each was modeled as a network in which nodes were atomic concepts and links were relationships asserted by the source vocabulary. For comparison against each terminology we ...
